Small hypermedia databases are of limited interest, but large, interesting databases are difficult to create. This poses an efficiency problem for hypermedia system designers to solve. If it is too inconvenient to contribute to a hypermedia database, users will avoid doing it. We have listed some of the approaches we have taken to encourage the development of large-scale databases:
