science as measurement

physics as computation

Quotation

The predominance of physics is, I believe, due to its consistent determination to introduce measurement into its discussions at the very earliest stage; it is because physics alone is concerned with the fundamental processes of measurement, and because all other sciences rely on work which is essentially physical for all their reliable methods of measurement, that its conclusions are bound to exert a certain influence over theirs.   Google-1   Google-2
