Summary

Data acquisition hardware takes incoming analog and digital data, samples it, test for alarm conditions, logs the data, may do simple operations, and communicates it via hardcopy or digital transmission. Data acquisition is used to gather information for monitoring, tuning, alarm detection, and data analysis. (cbb 5/80)
